Am I eligible to be a Fuel Hi-Performance rewards member?
You are eligible if you are:
a. A Real Estate Agent licensed in the province in which you operate
b. A Financial Planner who is duly registered to deal in the sale of securities
c. A party deemed eligible by Origin, who is duly authorized in your province to make eligible referrals contemplated by the Fuel Rewards Program.
You are not eligible if you are:
a. A sales employee of Builders/Developers
b. An employee of Origin
c. A Mortgage Brokers or their employee
Must I tell my employer that I am participating in Fuel?
Yes. You must disclose to your employers (if applicable) the fact that you are participating in Fuel.
How do I become a Fuel member?
You may register by completing the required sign up form, either online at www.fuelbyorigin.ca or through an Origin Mortgage Advisor.
Must I be registered in Fuel to earn Fuel points?
You must be registered in Fuel to earn Fuel points. No points will be granted for referrals and advances made prior to registration.
How do I earn Fuel points?
a. You must make an eligible financing referral to Origin, that is advanced.
b. The financing facility must be advanced with Origin and/or one of Origin's Affiliated Financial Institutions.
c. The minimum amount of the new financing facility advanced must be $50,000.00
How many points do I earn for my referrals advanced?
With Fuel, the size of the home financing referred counts.
Your points are granted as per the formula below. The points formula applies from the first referred financing advance date until that same date in the next calendar year.
Can I exchange my points for cash or transfer them to someone else?
No, Fuel points are not redeemable for cash, nor are they transferable. Your Fuel points are valid only while you are active and registered in Fuel.
What happens if I refer a client who has previously received home financing from Origin?
Points will not be granted where the client is a previous and/or current client of Origin.
What happens if I refer home financing and it is advanced, yet my points do not appear in my account?
Any account discrepancy, including missing advanced referrals, must be reported to a Fuel and/or Origin representative within 60 days of the advance date. If notification of missing points is not reported within 60 days of the advance date, no points for a missing referral will be awarded. Origin reserves the right to adjust points at anytime.
Is it my responsibility to track my points?
Each member can access their points account online at www.fuelbyorigin.ca. Each member has a password protected account which keeps track of their reported points activity.
My Fuel membership has deactivated, why?
Members that have been inactive (no referrals to Origin) for 12 months may, at the sole discretion of Origin, be removed from Fuel. Any unused points at that time may be reclaimed by Origin. Should you wish to reinstate your Fuel membership, simply contact the Fuel Service Centre.
What rewards can I choose from?
There are no limits for Fuel members. Points awarded in Fuel can be redeemed against all product and service categories in the www.fuelbyorigin.ca website catalogue.
Are my rewards taxable?
Yes. All rewards are taxable. As a Member, you acknowledge that any personal, federal and/or provincial income tax liability arising from the receipt of products and/or services from Fuel is your sole responsibility.
If I don't have enough points for a reward I want, can I supplement with cash or credit?
No. When redeeming for rewards, Fuel points cannot be supplemented with payment by cash or credit.
Are my rewards under warranty?
Merchandise is covered by normal manufacturers' warranties only. Warranty claims must be made directly with the manufacturer. Origin is not responsible for any damages resulting from the misuse or incorrect assembly of merchandise.
If I'm not happy with my merchandise, what can I do?
Merchandise cannot be returned, unless damaged during shipping.
Where will my rewards be delivered?
Merchandise will be shipped by courier to the address for service that you filled in on your initial registration/sign up form.
I redeemed some of my points for a reward, when do they become unavailable?
Fuel temporarily freezes the member's account for points on a pending reward redemption until the confirmation of redemption is completed. Upon confirmation, the actual number of points will be deducted from the member's account. Any unused points will be available for future redemptions.
I have redeemed a travel reward. Does Fuel organize my insurance?
No, it is your responsibility to arrange for all insurance needs, passports, visas and any other travel documentation required.
Some of my contact details have changed. Must I notify Fuel?
It is your responsibility to notify the Fuel Service Centre of any change in your status, including a change of employers, address for service, email or cellular phone number.
